Even though Scary Movie 3 was directed by David Zucker instead of the Wayans Brothers, the movie still kept most of the urban sensibilities of the first two Scary Movies. This is especially apparent in the film's soundtrack, which includes tracks by Gage, N-Kroud Kliq, and Jug, along with excerpts of James L. Venable's score. Most of the rap either plays up the spooky or silly sides of the movie, as displayed by the soundtrack's first two songs, Buku Wise & Young Dre's lunging "Just Got Serious" and the dopey but entertaining "Mexican Hat Rap" from Delinquent Habits. Simon Rex's "White Boy" follows in the same goofy vein. While none of the songs here are particularly groundbreaking, tracks like Kebyar's "Smoke It Up" and Gage's "Who U Lookin' At" are better than might be expected, especially considering that the album doesn't feature any songs that weren't written expressly for the movie. The excerpts of Venable's score are actually skit-like pieces of dialogue from the movie, some of which are funnier than others when taken out of the film's context. Overall, Scary Movie 3 isn't a bad soundtrack, but it doesn't offer much to anyone who isn't already a fan of the movie.
