The Scars Heal In Time are sisters Kayla Smith, guitar, keyboards, lead singer, songwriter and Tayler Smith, drums, percussion and co-writer.
They started the band as a tribute to their late father, Justin Smith, who suffered from brain cancer and sadly lost his battle with the disease.
The CD was recorded in Texas and features the sisters and their producer Ernie Meyers only. No additional musicians or singers were brought in. For touring and promoting their CD "Double Exposure" on Angelwing Records, they take additional musicians, so they can faithfully recreate the songs.
The band has many influences that come from classic rock, alternative, punk, metal, and even country. With these influences it is hard to put a label on the band but alternative pop/rock will suffice.
Because of the song writing, arrangements, and Kayla's voice, the band has hit upon a sound that while familiar is also new.
Prior to recording this internationally released CD, the band cut their teeth playing clubs, festivals (including Rockapalooza in Michigan) and motorcycle rallies, in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Tennessee, Michigan, and elsewhere.
They have played with too many artists to list but includes Puddle Of Mudd, Saliva, Drowning Pool,The Misfits, In This Moment, Bad Company, Skid Row, Red Jumpsuit Appartus, Afroman, Coolio, We Come As Romans, and others.
As the market continues to repeat itself with Pop Queens, boy bands and regurgitated rock bands, the time is right for a new sound.
