Zip Tang, the Chicago-based progressive rock band, is pleased to announce their fifth, self-produced studio album, "Private Shangri-La". The band, now a trio (Perry Merritt - lead vocals, guitar, synths / Rick Wolfe - bass, vocals / Fred Faller - drums), has returned to its eclectic rock roots while retaining its progressive edges with odd time signatures inter weaved with melodic 4/4 sections. While the album is different than previous releases, it retains the core sound of Zip Tang.

Rivertree @ ProgArchives: "Bang! Brilliant! Their Private Shangri-La is a well thought out curiosity... the wonderful melodic contours come to the fore more and more, weirdness turns into trickiness. Shortened to a three-piece affair ... so what, this does not imply limited opportunities quite naturally - no, not necessarily. They compensate this with virtuosity and creativeness, and last but not least they are definitely able to rrrrrock the house! 4.5 stars so far!"
