The scene might well have been. The São Paulo harmonica player Val Tomato called his band entered the studio and recorded nine own songs, all very quick and simple, as well as the Paulista guitarist Michel Leme in his new job, six elaborate themes, but recorded in one take only in a lounge church.
The two musicians have shown that it does not take more than that to make quality music. The blues and jazz did in their latest CDs broaden the hope that the technology will not undermine the creativity - and that simplicity shows that me much of the time, less is always more.
The two and pianist Ari Borger, also SãoPaulo, are putting on their most recent work shops. Stripped and accurate production, following a trend that has prevailed in the underground of the two styles: simplicity and feeling.
Val Tomato rescues Chicago style with the swing of Brazilianness, but through the Mississippi, in his latest work, "Twenty Long Years'. There is no refinement, the arrangements are basic, but the sound harmonica produces is a lightness and delicacy overwhelming.
Excellent harmonica player and competent singer, surprising themes in Portuguese - are simple and single and themes, but with unusual approach in "Path of the Sun '', 'Dark Eyes'' and Twin Blues' '. (google)
