Shawn O'Shields was born in McCrory, a small town in Woodruff County Arkansas.
He was raised by his father, a self-employed farmer, and his mother, who worked in the insurance business until retirement. His mother’s dad, Pa Paw, played a big role in Shawn's life. His papaw taught him how to hunt, fish, sing, and be a business man. Shawn spent countless hours learning about life from his papaw as they set out hoop nets and trammel nets in the Cache River, hunted whitetail deer in the White river refuge, and coon hunted at night until 1 or 2 in the morning.
Shawn was married at the age of 18. His wife has stood by his side through all the hard times life has dealt them. After raising 4 children, Shawn decided to take some songs he had written during his lifetime to Nashville and see if they were good enough to be released to the public. During a meeting with a well-known figure in country music, Mr. Bob Heatherly, Shawn was introduced to singer, songwriter and producer, A.J. Masters. Shawn and A.J. became friends and co writers in a matter of days. The rest is Nashville History. With the guidance of Mr. Heatherly, one relationship led to another and Shawn was allowed to enjoy success as a writer and a singer. He feels blessed to get to share a part of his past with others in hopes they relate to the stories he tells in his songs. We hope you enjoy the emotional journeys that evolve through his music.
