As San Francisco hums around them, indie alt-rock artist Megan Slankard and her band sweat through the final tasks involved in a brand-new album project. With the help of Nashville producer Alex Wong (Vienna Teng, Delta Rae), Megan and her band are creating an edgy, spirited rock record, full of raw, sometimes sassy, often dark emotion: the sunny, exuberant singer-songwriter’s new album is her Dorian Gray picture from the attic. The album, entitled Running on Machinery, will be released May 19, 2015.

In addition to the new album, Megan has already sold over 35,000 copies of her four previous independently released CDs.

Touring does not take a back seat to Megan’s love of writing and recording. She has toured extensively throughout the United States and Europe. Some of her adventures include opening for Jamie Cullum at a sold-out Fillmore, playing electric guitar on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live as part of the Jeff Campbell Band, singing the National Anthem to a crowd of 45,000 Giants baseball fans, performing duets with Pat Monahan of Train, and touring with Dire Straits co-founder David Knopfler through Europe.
