Shari and Dave first met in the summer of 1991, crossing paths as performing blues musicians: Shari was the partner of harmonica legend, Madcat Ruth, (Madcat & Kane), while Dave was leading the electric blues band, Big Dave and the Ultrasonics. A happy marriage, thousands of miles of touring, and nearly twenty five years later, they've recorded their second CD as a duo.

On acoustic guitars, mandolin, and National Steel slide guitar, Shari and Dave throw a four handed party of original and time-honored blues, gospel, swing, ragtime and mountain music - If you like soulful, hot picking, foot stomping deep blues, and beautiful harmonies, you will love their music. Steeped in Dave’s smoky vocals, percussive rhythm and innovative lead lines, Shari’s crisp picking style, rootsy leads, and stinging slidework, their music has been described as “street swing and stomp blues,” - like a testament to sounds once heard on the streets of Harlem, the juke joints of Mississippi, the hills of Appalachia or from the jug bands of Memphis.

Since they started performing together in 2010, they've travelled far and wide, appearing at festivals and clubs alike, and charming audiences with their love for each other and for the traditional style of music that they play. Reviewers have delighted in their tasteful renditions and their instrumental skill. Americana/Blues artist Brooks Williams wrote after seeing them for the first time - "Best acoustic blues I've seen in....well, ever!"
Linda Yohn, Program Director, WEMU had this to say about their first release, Four Hand Blues: "Every blues musician wants to be "one of the chosen" blessed with a great ear, technique, voice, repertoire and soul. It doesn't happen to everyone, but it has happened to Shari Kane and Dave Steele. There are no wrong notes - they both have a deep understanding of true blues tradition and what to say and play to take the music into the next century. Their give and take, interplay and harmony are instinctive. Their songwriting and story-telling skills set them apart from run-of-the mill blues cover bands. They are two of Ann Arbor's finest. Their new CD "Four Hands Blues" will establish them as two of the world's finest blues musicians."
