Nashville Recording Artist Ken Jordan grew up with a great respect and admiration for Elvis Presley and much like his idol, Ken started out singing in church and has shared a love for many styles of music. His mom said when he was only 5 years old he could be seen walking around shaking his leg and singing Hound Dog so it was no real surprise that years later he would travel and sing as one of the worlds greatest Elvis Tribute Artists. In concert with The Jordanaires Elvis' original backup group, featured in the TBS Special Elvis USA and much more yet deep inside was a yearning to allow his own creative juices to flow, be more himself which is what you will hear and see in this new CD.
Then there were other influences as well, Conway Twitty , Tom Jones, Engelbert Humperdinck just to name a few. In this CD Ken gets to share some of that inspiration and influence in a sweet blend of Classic Country and Classic Rock. He also put his personal touch on the arrangements of some of the songs included, one of them being IF I CAN DREAM which was Elvis' closing song in the 1968 Comeback Special.
We were fortunate to have some of Nashvilles greats on this album
Roger Lewis longtime friend of Ken's played bass and produced Ain't That Country, he has played with Ronnie Milsap, John Conlee and many others through the years.
Skip Mitchell coproduced and engineered recording mixing it all up and pulling Ain't That Country all together, he played guitar in The Oaks Band and backed up and produced The Oak Ridge Boys for over ten years.
Mark Beckett staff drummer for the Grand Ole Opry set the tempo and played drums for us, he has played for some bigdogs too, recently ZZ Topp , Peter Frampton and more.
Kim Morrison added the amazing backup harmony, ok the list is too long, she sang with Roy Orbison, Conway Twitty, Isaac Hayes, Ann Murray, Gladys Knight and on and on. Some recorded her songs too.
Craig Fletcher on fiddle and rhythm guitar, he first came to Music City to play for his friend Joe Diffie, after six years he moved over to Lorrie Morgan's band, Trace Adkins and on and on.
Doug Jernigan steel guitar recorded with and played for Jack Green, Faron Young, Ferlin Husky, Lorrie Morgan and others.
Gary Smith on keys, has traveled and played for Barbara Mandrell, Dolly Parton and others.
Doug Grieves last but not even least, lead guitar ,has had his share of the spotlight as well, but he doen's like to brag about it, actually all of these guys were so nice and so humble.
I gotta say, I was honored and blessed to have them all on this album.
I am truly grateful!
Ken is busy these days writing more songs of his own while living in and enjoying life in Music City, Tennessee; Some of his songs through the years have been played all over the USA and Canada. Watch for him and his band HeartRite to be coming to a city near you.
Enjoy this blend of Rock Country as Ken likes to call it.
