You'll probably never get to see this band live again as they all went on to different projects back in the late 90's. But their last studio album, 'Moondog Man', and the recent collection 'Rare and Unissued - Studio and Live' are still in big demand.

The Dockery Boys always delivered the goods live with their highly danceable brand of rootsy, rhythmic rock. By combining solid, guitar driven rhythms with fiddle, mandolin and accordion the Dockery Boys successfully bridged the gap between rock-pop and roots music.

Driving the beat: inspired roots-rock guitar from Richard Farmer, fretless bass from Nick Quarmby (ex Phil Beer) and Martin Fitzgibbon (original Rocky Horror Show) whose air tight drumming charges an act already bursting with solid, infectious rhythm. Add Peter Miln's astounding fiddle and mandolin, Mark Cole's accordion and superb gritty-yet-melodic vocals, and you have what was one of the most popular bands on the circuit.

Comparisons? The Dockery Boys have been likened to Del Amitri, the Levellers, the Eagles, the Pogues and even REM....strong stuff for a five-piece outfit with a pedigree built on playing to enthusiastic crowds at art centres, theatres and clubs across the country.

Numerous festival appearances included headlining the '94 Gloucester Docks Roots Festival and a prestigious slot on the Glastonbury Acoustic Stage where they played a highly acclaimed set alongside Richard Thompson, Albert Lee and Allison Moyet. At Live '95 (a high profile showcase for hot talent) the Dockery Boys fought off nearly five hundred national bands to be voted one of the top ten new acts in the country.
