The Laura Holland Band are a London-based seven-piece band taking inspiration from the golden ages of Chess and Stax Records. Fronted by the 'whiskey and smoke' vocals of the acclaimed Laura Holland, the band play an organic set of original compositions mixed with lesser-known, but historically significant, songs from the blues and soul legends of the 50's and 60's.

The band have recorded extensively at legendary London studios such as Tin Pan Alley and Smokehouse, always working the old fashioned way with tape, valves, analogue and minimum overdubs. The debut album 'Smokehouse Sessions' received rave reviews amongst the blues fraternity and has enjoyed many radio plays. The band's new album of original material, 'Dare I Believe' is available on all leading didgital music plarforms.

The live set has been honed through countless UK performances, including a residency at Proud Camden, and has become a slick, dynamic and highly entertaining show which receives positive reviews from every venue.

Laura Holland:
Laura Holland is an exciting blues singer adding contemporary, inner-city grit to the bluesy traditions of the Chess and Stax era. While the other kids were on a strict diet of Hip Hop and Eminem, Laura was listening to BB King, Memphis Slim, Etta James and the other blues legends.

A chance meeting with bass-player Jules Kleiser over a game of pool at London's famous 12 Bar Club was the catalyst for Laura to take her passion for the blues, and her extraordinarily powerful and characterful voice, to a wider audience. Guitarist Nick Sharples, keyboard player Tris Llewellyn and drummer Stuart Brown were enlisted, along with a brass section of Gerry Atkins on trumpet and Chris Whiter on saxophone, and the Laura Holland Band was born.
