Cryoshell is the self-titled debut studio album by Danish rock band Cryoshell, released June 7, 2010 by Voices Music & Entertainment. Produced by Jacob Hansen, the album was recorded between late 2008 and early 2010 at Hansen Studios in Ribe, Denmark. Prior to recording, Cryoshell was best known for producing music for Bionicle - a popular series of construction toys produced by Lego - as soundtracks to their toy waves between 2007 and 2009, Lego was also partially responsible for the band's formation. Three of their songs used by Bionicle were subsequently re-recorded and feature on the album. Due to the popularity of their songs with Bionicle and its fan base, Cryoshell announced plans to release an album for late 2008 featuring the songs they produced for them as well as new material. But due to inexplicit reasons, the release was pushed back numerous times until a definite date was confirmed. As a result of difficulties in securing a worldwide distribution agreement, Cryoshell was initially released in Scandinavia, but later received publication in other global territories through different record labels across a period of nearly two years.
