18 year old Alabama native Edward Hartline has been playing the guitar and writing songs since he was 11. He grew up in a household that listened to everything from Jimmy Buffett to Vivaldi, but the music that caught his imagination early on came from Don McLean and The Monkees. At 13, a video of him playing a cover song was spotted by the original artist, who tweeted about it. That push into the spotlight was the encouragement Edward needed, and within six months, he began playing local coffeehouses and released a home-recorded EP, 'Lagniappe'. in Chicago put several of his songs in rotation, and two of his demos went to number 2 before he entered high school. They remained in the top 25 for over six months. His debut CD, Candy for Bread Map, was released in 2011, and the first single went to number 1 on Fearless in six weeks.

He has toured the southern US, had a song featured on the soundtrack of an indie film, had another included on a compilation CD produced by Independent Music News, 'Folk Artists 2012', and has performed with three of his musical influences.
