Norwegian singer/songwriter Elvira Nikolaisen is a thoughtful vocalist with a bent toward melodic adult alternative rock. Born in Moi, Norway, in 1980, Nikolaisen released her debut album, Quiet Exit, on Sony BMG in 2006.

It would take Elvira Nikolaisen three years to follow up Indian Summer of 2008. Third Album Lighthouse is indeed an ambitious project involving many people, where Nikolaisen proves that an artist in development. First single from the album was catchy "Nothing To Lose", a timeless pop song with pearly guitar and cheeky taste of the American west coast sets the tone for the rest of the album. The inspiration from the 60s and 70s dresses Nikolaisen soft vocals and light piano least as good as before, a combination that makes Lighthouse to an extremely pleasant listening experience.
The album is produced by brother Emil Nikolaisen, protagonist of critic darlings Serena Maneesh, who here has brought a Norwegian star team: With technician Christian Engfeldt (Cato Salsa Experience, The Lionheart Brothers, Marit Larsen) behind the helm, has Emil held in all threads and even played guitar. The band has otherwise consisted of drummer Olaf Olsen (BIGBANG) and Elvira's permanent bassist Ole Kristian Wetten as nucleus, while guitarists Remi Christiansen, Trond Mjøen and Jo Schumann all have put their own stamp on the album. Cato "Salsa" Thomassen and Havard Krogedal has contributed on Wurlitzer and Rhodes, while Christer Engen has played percussion. Strings and blow it the American avant-garde composer Joshua Stamper has arranged, conducted and recorded in New Jersey. Koringa is made of, among other Ole Johannes Åleskjær (The Loch Ness Mouse).(google)
