Montreal duo Bare Bones (Suzanne Nuttall and Patrick Hutchinson) came up with their distinctive stripped-down blend of rock & soul roots as the 80s turned into the 90s, and over the next six years performed in venues from punk rock dives to coffeehouses and folk festivals, from coast to coast in Canada and even up to the Yukon. As well as headlining their own shows, Bare Bones also opened shows for artists ranging from Ani DiFranco to Johnny Clegg, Procol Harum to Timbuk 3.

They recorded three albums, two singles and one EP, showcasing their strong original songs along with some striking covers. In 2014, Patrick and Suzanne decided to dust off their old analog recordings and get them beautifully remastered for digital release.

Bare Bones went out on a high note in 1995 with a packed farewell concert at Montreal's Café Campus, when Suzanne relocated to Toronto. For the next decade they pursued other projects and didn't play a note together, until a chance visit together to an old-time country night where they performed a couple of standards with the house band. This led to talk of a reunion show or two, and the pair were delighted to find that the music came back as naturally as if they had only taken a week off. Shows in Montreal and Toronto were hailed as being at least the equal of their heyday by original fans. There have been a few reunion shows since that time when the planets have managed to align.

If you ever get a chance to see Bare Bones in concert, you can expect an evening of soulful, lean & tasty music, presented with style, wit and a rock 'n roll spirit!
