Bucky O'Hare is a bluesman in the long, and diverse, tradition of Howling Wolf, Buddy Guy, Mississippi John Hurt, Tom Waits and Johnny Winter. Combining classic elements of Chicago blues, Country blues and Texas blues, O'Hare and his rotating cast of musical compatriots, The Bucky Band, create a hybrid sound that can only live in the world of Americana; moving easily between dangerous snarling loud stompers to tender ballads and everything in-between. This band can also blow, with extended instrumental breaks and 2 all instrumental tracks that belie additional influence from Ornette Coleman, Miles Davis, Bill Frisell and classic swing music.

The Bucky Band Volume One is the first installment of this groups debut offering. In February of 2014 The Bucky Band went into the studio and recorded 16 tracks. This music, along with a few older and newer recordings, represents almost 10 years of musical partnership between these artist. Tested and refined at various bars in and around Boston and in various combinations of musicians, this music is a labor of love; a representation of friendship, camaraderie and pure musical expression. Through dedication, sacrifice, hard work and perseverance, this music was born and could only exist through the support of family and community.

The music of The Bucky Band Volume One was recorded as live-in-studio as possible with minimal instrumental overdubs or edits. All basic tracks and background vocals were recorded at Under the Boarder studio by bassist Matt Mahoney and all lead vocals, as well as production of "Devil Blues" and "Cooling Board", were recorded by Jeff Messier at his home studio.

The Bucky Band features Bucky O'Hare on guitar and lead vocals, Mike Tworoger on electric bass and background vocals, Matt Mahoney on upright bass and background vocals, Kevin Miller on drums and Rick Rosa on drums and background vocals. The Bucky Band Volume One was produced by O'Hare, Tworoger, Mahoney and Jeff Messier of Spaceport Carnival (who also supplied drums and vocals to Hot Sun) and the album was mastered by David Messier at Same Sky Productions Austin, TX.
