Jay Matthes began playing professionally in July 2011. Since then, his musical projects have earned opening spots for national acts such as Breaking Laces, Smashmouth, 10,000 Maniacs, Charlie Worsham, Natalie Stovall and the Drive, and more.

Jay has played many of the major venues in Wisconsin, including Summerfest, Milwaukee Indyfest, Country USA, The Rave, Miller Park, Cactus Club, Germanfest, Shank Hall, Miramar Theatre, plus multiple local festivals and events. Original music has been featured on 92.5 WBWI and 102.1 WLUM, as well as Channel 12 WISN. Currently Jay plays solo acoustic gigs across Southeastern Wisconsin in support of his new album, A Drier Place.

A Drier Place features 10 all-new, all-original Americana tracks and features many of Jay's favorite local artists. From the opening stomp-along track 'Build A Fire' to the barn dance anthem 'Tell Me Somethin' to the closing solo acoustic track 'No Rain' A Drier Place is aimed to please, and please it most certainly does.
