As the primary songwriter for St. Louis quirk-rock-folk band Hotel Faux Pas, O'Neal provided his skewed wit and off the beaten path music style to a myriad of songs. Now he's gathered musician friends to back him on Hitchhike Back to Suckerville, helping him explore both the serious and silly sides of his songwriting.

Hitchhike Back to Suckerville offers a quirkily cinematic collection of treatises on the kind of love that sticks to the bottom of your shoes in a dark downtown movie house. O'Neal's absurdist eye leaps from the perfect bound page to the sound file in songs whose characters see religious icons in mundane items, who drown their wives and wax poetic over it, who condemn the radio hits they fell in love to in their youth, and who champion the battle campaigns of their vulnerable warrior lovers. Oh, and there's also some Mennonites and a hanged elephant. Life is good. Weird but good.
