Old Salt Union is playing music by its own set of rules. While the men of this group are no complete rebels—citing bluegrass influences from The Del McCoury Band to Sam Bush —they are also certainly thinking ahead, drawing inspiration from Bill Evans, Danny Elfman, Punch Brothers, and more. The band stretches the boundaries of traditional bluegrass music by incorporating in-depth musical arrangements, catchy hooks, and a pop sensibility.

Established in May of 2012, Old Salt Union recorded their debut album "Western Skies" in October of the same year. They independently released the album in March of 2013 to an overwhelmingly positive response. Beginning in January of 2014, Old Salt Union has been exclusively touring the country. Old Salt Union’s loose, yet no nonsense style lends way to an original sound—something caught between old fashioned and twenty-fifteen.

Bridge is the 2nd release by Old Salt Union. This album shows the transition from traditional Bluegrass to Newgrass. Contained within the fourteen tracks are elements of Jazz, Jam, Classical, and Pop. This ain't your granddad's Bluegrass!
