Quartet led by British guitarist Alex Emery, dedicated to Mississppi Delta, Chicago, Texas & Kansas City blues.

Blues Unlimited, the brainchild of British guitarist & singer Alex Emery, is a quartet including bass player Eduardo Freire and drummer Hugo Galvez that started up in late 2002. The band has recorded three albums: Inside Out (2004), Two Steps Ahead (2005) and Shots (2006), each accompanied by a tour, TV and radio appearances. The band are regular favorites at locales including the Jazz Zone, La Noche, the Irish Pub and the News Café. Alex, who headlined the 2001 Icpna Blues Festival, was invited back to the festival in 2004 with the band, which has worked occasionally with Pochi Marambio, Brad Holmes, pianist Pepe Cespedes, harmonica player Carlos Espinoza, bass player Cesar Bustamante (Fragil), saxophonists Carlos Caliennes and Nestor Benitez, trombonist Lucho Calixto and vocalist Desiree Mandrile. The band, which has also performed at blues festivals at the Jazz Zone and La Noche, premiered its first videoclip for the single Bury Me with the Blues on Canal N in mid-2009. Produced by APTV's Mauricio Munoz, the video has been posted on MySpace, Facebook and YouTube. Blues Unlimited is currently working with Spanish record producer Marcos Saenz (who previously worked with artists including Charly Garcia, Sui Generis and Andres Calamaro) on its fourth album, to be titled Wrong Side of the Tracks. While this CD will have a heavier feel than 2006's Shots, the band has once again crafted a set of songs that harks back to their Mississippi Delta influences. The recording features the original line-up of bass player Eduardo Freire and drummer Hugo Galvez and joined by in-demand session man Jesus Riega on keyboards. Wrong Side of the Tracks will be released to coincide with a concert tour programmed for 2001-2012.
