Jed plays the old school style of blues. Listen in and you can hear the roots of jazz & rock music. "Mean Mean Woman” is defiantly an electric old Chicago blues style. While "Blues Shoes" is more of a down home country acoustic style
Jed grew up in the back room of a truck stop. Back in the 1950s & early 60s everything on the juke box were his early influences. Blues, Pop, Country, Jazz, R&B.
After 50 years of playing for the public he says, " I still enjoy street corner busking " When people stop to listen, they really into your music."
The different styles and sounds got embedded into my bones. Into the very fiber of my nerves. I enjoyed all those different kinds of Music. I borrow from all those Phrasings, feelings & tones and blend them in with my own style. It’s something I`ve evolved into over the last 50 some years.
I approach electric and acoustic guitar basically the same. I don’t always play clean. I pick up cool sounds wherever I can find them. Like Chuck Berry when he would hit and bend two strings at the same time to get more volume, sustain & interest. I rarely play strait notes. I slide in & out, bend. vibrate, shake and squeeze. I’m trying to make things more interesting and different. Like a painter uses different kinds of brush strokes. Sometimes I caress the strings, sometimes I wrestle with them. That’s blues music. That’s American music. Jed sparks Blues Music.
