Its that time again here at Headset where we have another fantastic release for your ears to enjoy. Next up we have J. Khobb to give you a well presented 3 track EP that hits all the right musical buttons that we at Headset just love. The first track is In My Arms and what a joy of a track to start with. Strong rhythms and a big drive from the off with a classic beats and hi-hat combo with clever use of claps. But its the bass licks that really give the track its identity, the track grooves along nicely with the vocal adding a more soulful edge but again when he brings the synths to the party thats when the track really gets going, the synths are almost popping but melt brilliantly in to the main basis of the track. This is just damn good house music that we just know youll enjoy. Next up on the EP is a track called Hysterical Kiss. A good solid drum kick gives the track some body, in come the hi-hats and a subtle touch of percussion lets the drive begin. The track then starts to develop and layers are created with some heavy bass that is just sublime, the warm melodic chords of the organ funnels you into an ecstatic sense of what music should make you feel like, this is the end of summer in a nutshell right here. Last up is Late Night Visit, which takes us on a much deeper vibe than the first two. Softer-edged beats that are almost stabby and broken-like in their sound are the foundation, but in come the filtered and elongated synths that ebb and flow around the beats and strong bass line that adds suspense and atmosphere. The floaty synths create the real depth on this with smooth harmonic transitions of sound that takes you away to another place. Enjoy!
