Taxi Violence, Cape Town’s seasoned rock veterans, are set to release their fourth studio through 2 Feet Music, an imprint of record label Sheer Sound.

The new Taxi Violence album, ‘Soul Shake’, features 11 brand spanking new tracks that were recorded and produced by the band’s favourite old Brendyn “Rusti” Rossouw from Heritage Sound Studios, and was mixed by legendary Theo Crous at his Bellville Studios.

The Soul Shake album cover, featuring a man being blown away by gale winds, was designed by Cape Town freelance conceptual photographer Sven Kristian.

The way Taxi Violence went about it this time was they recorded half of Soul Shake last year and released the tracks as free downloads – for one day only on the 14th of December. Naturally, it was an early Christmas gift to all Taxi Violence fans to thank them for their ‘rabid’ support since the band started out in 2004. The rest of Soul Shake has been completed earlier this year.

NEW ALBUM: Taxi Violence – Soul ShakeWith the new album, Taxi Violence have decided to go back to their earlier modus operandi: rocking out. Soul Shake sees complete departure from their 2011 release, Unplugged: Long Way From Home.

When asked to comment, Taxi Violence drummer, Louis Nel, said that they’ve gone back to playing straight-up rock ‘n’ roll songs similar to their first and second albums. Just a lot faster and harder.

To celebrate and launch their new offering Taxi Violence are currently completing a national tour. ‘Brainmash’ has been pinned as the first single from the new album.
