Born in Altoona, PA and hailing from country fields of Martinsburg, PA, Matt Pletcher grew up with music in his soul. As a child his family has said, "He can sing you songs that he's heard but he can't talk to tell you what he wants yet." So it's safe to say that music is in his heart. From the early years he grew up listening to all genres and styles of music which helped to build him musically. He states "As a song writer I think it's foolish not to listen to it all! You'll only box yourself in to a creative corner. There is alot of good music out there in all genres, it's just a matter of what speaks to you at that time you're in."

Matt started playing guitar by the age of 7 when he found an old acoustic in a basement with only 3 strings left on it. He figured out just by messing around how to get that thing to sing twinkle twinkle little star. It was at the moment there was no going back and he knew what he wanted to play musically. He has been self taught ever since.

By the time he was in high school he was asked to join a Pop Punk band called The Podunx. They toured around and played so much that they had developed quite a name for themselves in their local scene. After the band split up Matt had been writing and playing music for himself as an outlet that he would share with friends sitting around camp fires and whatnot.

A few years later he met Ricky Lee, an aspiring country artist at the time with his first album 'Genuine' just releasing. Matt started making websites for him until Ricky found that Matt was a songwriter and guitar player as well. They soon became more like family than anything else. They wrote their first song in 15 minutes titled "Countryfied Girl" which was released on the Ordinary Man album of Ricky Lee's. That was the first of many songs these two had written together and it wasn't long before Matt was sharing the stage with RIcky Lee to bring an explosive new element to Ricky's already high energy stage show. They have opened for Randy Houser, Justin Moore, Lynard Skynard to name a few and toured all over the country.

Matt had started playing acoustic shows in 2012 either with a partner or solo and has been getting amazing response back from it. This is the first time he's really taken the mic as a front man since high school. He started writing songs on his own again and presenting them at these low key shows only to get an overwhelming response from them. It was because of all the love and support and encouragement that he is now on his way to Nashville to record his first solo album.

"The ride is just beginning, hang on tight."
