Review from RateYourMusic:
Well, reading all the "this isn't nearly as good as this release" and the like kind of has me a little excited. I always enjoy finding new bands, listening to music from days gone by that I missed so it was that I decided to give Can a chance. When I picked this album, I didn't go in with the intention of buying a Can lp but there it was, a sealed #47 of a 200 pressed run on a plain white label sitting in the front racks of my local indy store. I had perused the Can section in the past, but all the used lp's were priced a bit high (35$ and up) to purchase without knowing if I'd like it so I picked this up for $14.98.
I like it. It has a feel and sound similar to being in a club in my heyday dancing my ass off while feeling psychedelic. It is much more electronic driven than I expected but it is done well. The grooves are all good and it has some phenomenal bass playing and while it, by type of music, will never qualify as an essential release for me, it is an album that I listen to quiet a bit. Unfortunately, everybody here thinks it sucks but I like it. If their earlier stuff is indeed alot better than this then I have alot to look forward to. Don't let the naysayers scare you off, perhaps their expectations were too high, because this is a nice album.
