Today's country music is not what it was at one time. The format has changed. Now, no one is saying it's "bad" or that it's "soul-less" or that "it's all just heavily marketed pop-music that lacks any sort of inspiration", it just so happens that there are certain musicians this day and age who don't find themselves, let's say, fitting in with the country music trends of the current times.

If there exists any americana band in the Midwest that obviously doesn't fit in with today's "country music" scene, the Top City Ramblers would be the band to rave about.

Established in 1922, in the capital of Kansas, known as Topeka, the Top City Ramblers have led both an illustrious career through the darker, more tumultuous times when they represented the oppressed commoner and the angry youth as well as a disparaging career during the more bright and promising times when they were looked upon as outlaws unfit for even the lowest rated Value Inn this side of the Mexican border. Throughout history, the band has continuously looked through the lens of the classic past that has inspired them whilst being on the forefront of contemporary songwriting and performances. If you have not witnessed them live, you must. For those who have, return.

One truth has remained: the Top City Ramblers have dedicated their efforts to creating the most classic country sound and the most traditional americana feel through their music which describes real life emotions and stories, both humorous and serious, while making no exception when performing their music with the utmost level of professionalism and quality which the entire Midwest has come to expect.
