SALVATORE AMARA (Cagliari 21 November 1966) is an Italian author, guitarist and singer. He started playing guitar when he was 9 year old, self-taught. In the early nineties he lived in London where he played guitar and harmonica with several local bands in the fervid local Blues circuit. His repertoire spanned across several styles from country blues, Chicago blues and Texas shuffle to funk, soul, rock, r'n'b, r'n'r, southern rock, traditional ballad, country and western. Back in his hometown, in 1993 he founded the Sardinian Blues Band SALVATORE AMARA & THE EASY BLUES BAND. In 1995 he took part and won the NARCAO BLUES FESTIVAL, where he also featured as opening act for Andy J Forest. In 1996 he went back to the NARCAO BLUES FESTIVAL, this time as guest, and supporting act for Ronnie Jones. In 1996 he had two of his original tracks included in the CD 'NARCAO BLUES'. In 1996 and 1997 he participated to the ROCCE ROSSE & BLUES FESTIVAL in ARBATAX, once again as guest; other guests included B.B. King, Jeff Healey, Peter Green and John Mayall. In 1997, with his brother Mauro and a Swiss co-production, he produced the MC 'WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE', including studio and live recordings of a selection of his original songs. Few months later, he went in mini tour in SWITZERLAND, promoting the new album; he took part as international guest at the MUNCHWILEN BLUES FESTIVAL (S. GALLO Canton) and also played in Blues clubs in ZURICH. In 1999 he took part and won the 1st edition of UNDERGROND BLUES FESTIVAL in QUARTU S.E., an event that included a number of international Blues stars, amongst others Jack Evans & John Higgs and Herbie Goins. In 2011 he recorded and published the CD 'BACK TO THE BLUES', including his 11 original tracks. The tracks included in the 'BACK TO THE BLUES' album received air time on several international radio Blues programs, such as KANSAS CITY ONLINE RADIO U.S.A., LOOKER RADIO U.K. ("Blues across the Marsh" with DJ Kevin Beale), VFM VINKOVCI RADIO - CROATIA ("Boom Boom roadhouse blues/rock radio show" with DJ Krunoslav Markutovic aka DJ Krunodlak), DUBLIN CITY FM ("Full House Radio Hour" with DJ Noel Casey), in CANADA, as well other internet radio stations around the world. Later on that year he played as supporting act for Jono Manson. In 2013 he organized and participated in the 1st edition of the CAGLIARI BLUES FESTIVAL, a 3-day event featuring 15 bands and authors. In 2014 he recorded a new album, the CD titled 'THE BLUES CATCHER', including his 18 original tracks.
