Sydney production duo Fishing release their debut album Shy Glow through Create/Control in Australia and New Zealand. Best friends Doug Wright and Russell Fitzgibbon wrote the album in a number of disparate spaces and times. From an apartment in Chicago to a train in Italy to a terrace in London and back to Sydney, the album is a map of their most recent journeys. Shy Glow is an eclectic delight. Never holding onto one sound for too long, the album finds an interception between sample based and synthesised sounds to make instrumental pop music that is versatile enough to listen to on headphones as well as on the dancefloor. Describing their sound as coming from a "venn diagram of influences", Shy Glow is the direct product of an intersection of musical tastes gleaned from different sources. Wanting to experiment with a different sound, Doug and Russ brought some of their favourite Sydney musicians into the studio. This resulted in collaborative tracks that feature the vocals of Al Wright (Cloud Control), Jonas Nichols (Sures), Marcus Whale (Collarbones) and Lavurn Lee (Guerre).
