Ritual is an album of through-written compositions for varied instrumental ensembles which include flute, violin, clarinet, bass clarinet, alto and bari sax, valve trombone, electric guitar, electronics, and a hard-driving rhythm section. These compositions were workshopped and have appeared in various contexts in Boston and Los Angeles since 2009. The musical materials found in Rituals 3 and 4 first appeared in a chamber composition called "Cat and Mouse", written in 2009 for flute, clarinet, viola, cello, piano and 3 percussionists. Earlier forms of Rituals 1 and 2 played key recurring roles as leitmotifs in Killsonic's 2010 experimental opera, "Tongues Bloody Tongues," which was performed for 3 nights in July of 2010 in Disney Hall's REDCAT theater.

Earlier in 2013, Dominique composed and conducted a live chamber score for a new theater work, Starcrosser’s Cut. The piece was a collaboration with playwright/director Joseph Tepperman, with whom he last worked in 2011 on “Tongues Bloody Tongues”, a critically-acclaimed experimental opera staged in Disney Hall’s REDCAT by Killsonic. This year’s experimental theater work, a fictional, dreamlike reconstruction of the police interview after the arrest of infamous NASA astronaut, Lisa Nowak, received six performances from June 6-16, 2013 in Los Angeles. The piece was featured and praised in multiple mainstream publications including LA Weekly, The Hollywood Reporter, USA Today and LA Stage Times.
