Jimmy Scott recorded several well-received sides for Savoy during the 50s then in 1962 went to the newly formed Ray Charles' Tangerine label and recorded the long-lost classic Falling In Love Is Wonderful. A densely romantic and heartbreakingly open collection of love songs-ballads so sincerely delivered in such a perfect voice. This is a voice and music of another time making the album a vocal jazz masterpiece. Gerald Wilson and Marty Paich arranged the tunes, Joe Adams produced, and Ray Charles played piano on all tracks and 'supervised.' Unfortunately, Falling In Love Is Wonderful disappeared virtually as soon as it was released. A contractual dispute arose with Jimmy's previous label, and Tangerine pulled the new record from stores.
