A founding member of A-Train and the Bluebirds, Shreveport guitarist Buddy Flett has released his first solo acoustic blues CD. "Mississippi Sea" marks a bit of a departure from Buddy's "sound" with the Bluebirds. Acoustic blues, nine songs written or co-written by Bud. A deep, laid back artistic statement by a passionate Observer of the South. The imagery on these original tunes is deeper than the Mississippi Sea. A wider point of reference than the Mississippi Delta, with the Deep South mystique of the Ark-La-Miss and the hard-edged feel pioneered by Texans like Lightnin' Hopkins.
"Flett's six-string work sounds like the missing Louisiana link to Elmore James and Muddy Waters" - Scott Jordan, Gambit Weekly, New Orleans.
