Vocalist and leader of the namesake Johnny Max Band, Johnny Max is a longtime veteran and well-respected name in the Ontario blues scene. Max and bandmates Ted Leonard on guitar, Martin Alex Aucoin on piano, Duncan McBain on drums, and Bruce Longman on bass made a name for themselves at numerous festivals and shows in Canada and the United States. Their Stax Records via Chicago blues via country sound was evident on the group's fourth album, A Lesson I've Learned -- so much so that Johnny Max and his band were nominated for a 2008 Juno Award.
