Gallagher's music is the product of over 20 years of musical obsession that finally landed on electric blues (kind of). With influences ranging from Jimi Hendrix to Andy Mckee, from Slayer to Bob Dylan, the end result is an odd...or maybe quirky, style of blues rock. The music rolls and tumbles from mournful chord strumming behind horror story lyrics to driving blues riffs mingled with rambling nonsense.
In the early '90s Gallagher spent his high school years in a barn in rural Indiana playing speed metal as fast and loud as he could with a 3 piece metal band. Then came several years of writing somber acoustic folk music. After a long hiatus he returned to the guitar, this time concentrating on solo acoustic fingerstyle. Becoming frustrated with the rigidity of purely composed music the practice sessions quickly evolved into hour after hour of fingerstyle blues improvisation. One day, on a whim, he dug up a rusty Ibanez that he had kept, grabbed a pick (which he hadn't used in years), cranked a small Peavey and found his voice.
