These guys have won awards in Britain, Europe, Canada and who knows where else. They also haven’t stopped touring and writing for three years and were even special guests on Paul Jones 25th Anniversary BBC show last year (where they went down a storm).
This is their third release and you can hear all that touring in the tightness of their playing and in the ease in which their styles mesh.
They claim influences from the likes of The Meters, Little Feat and Tom Waits and in tracks like ‘Leadbelly’ and ‘Peace In The Valley’ you can certainly hear thos but they still have their own musical personality and on a track like ‘Walk Away’ they put over some real power and presence. ‘Did Your Daddy Wrong’ is a hugely funky number, pointing to the way the whole album seems to revolve around big, easy funk, rolling organ and slide guitar.
